Freiburg has a soccer team in Germany's 2nd Bundesliege, Sport Club Freiburg. In the days leading up to their home game against Duisburg, the town was plastered with ad posters, each imploring us (in all capital letters, and in English) to SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM. And, with standing room tickets at 8 euros a head, why not?
About a dozen Americans from the program came along and much was yelled and shouted. Needless to say, the mighty SC Freiburg trounced their puny opponent with a score of two to one.
